Your arrival

Wishes and information for your stay:

Here are some interesting tips and information, helping you to arrive, pack and prepare for your holiday.

There are some popular routes leading to South Tyrol - most of them involve crossing the Alps.

Arriving from the north is quick and comfortable due to the Brennerpass toll route. Nevertheless, especially in the high season, it’s possible you get stuck in traffic at the weekend. To avoid this, we advise taking the Brenner motorway rather in the early morning hours.
If you are coming from Switzerland, the Reschenpass (1504 m) through the Vinschgau Valley is the most suitable route.
If you are coming from the east, drive via Lienz in East Tyrol to San Candido, then through the Puster Valley and on to Bressanone, where you can either join the Brenner motorway or take the state road to Bolzano, from where you can take the MeBo to Merano and on to Dorf Tirol.

Important:
If you use a navigation system, please enter "Gnaidweg, access via the Dorf Tirol main road". This means that you should first look for the Dorf Tirol main road and then for the Gnaidweg. Otherwise you may get misinformed.

Tip:
You are welcome to leave your car after the arrival. The Merano area has an excellent public transport network and will take you to all popular excursion destinations as well as starting points for hiking and cycling routes.
